Is your vision just a dream while you sleep or an action while awake ?
Funny man Jim Carry has been open about his struggles, and how visualization helped him stay motivated. There is a great interview with Oprah Winfrey where he talks about self-visualization, and how it helped him attract his success.
“I believe in manifestation,” says Carrey. “I believe in putting a rocket of desire out into the Universe. And you get it when you believe it.”-
Here are two stories about Jim Carrey and vision I came across as I was reading an article that were very interesting and moving .
a) Even after several failed acting auditions, he would drive up to Mulholland Drive( Beverly Hills), sit there in his car, and envision himself living in a mansion.
b) Jim Carry in 1991 wrote a check to himself for $10 million dollars for “acting services rendered”. He postdated it for 3 years later and put it in his wallet so he could carry it around with him. In 1994, he learned he would be earning $10 million dollars for his role in Dumb and Dumber.
Practicing your mental focus and visualizations will help you get better at this technique. BE LIKE Nathan Sharansky, a computer specialist who spent 9 years in prison IN THE USSR after being accused of spying for US has a lot of experience with mental practices. While in solitary confinement, he played himself in mental chess, saying: “I might as well use the opportunity to become the world champion!” Remarkably, in 1996, Sharansky beat world champion chess player Garry Kasparov
Learning how to visualize can help you accomplish anything literally .
Scripture says …
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.y
Without vision the people will perish –
In my networking business I could literally see myself walking the stage in front of 25,000 being promoted
I could see myself in the suit and tie smiling ear to ear excited happy and guess what ?
In 90 days I was doing just that ! I was walking the stage in Phoenix Arizona in front of 25,000 people getting promoted !
Do you think I was happy ?
Do you see how visualizing actually works ?
Vision defined …
the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.
“the organization had lost its vision and direction
3 visualization practices
1. Affirmations – create a visual picture and an affirmation for each goal
2. Use affirmations to support your visualization
3. Expect and believe you will get results
The story of the pebbles
“In a small Italian town, hundreds of years ago, a small business owner owed a large sum of money to a loan-shark. The loan-shark was a very old, unattractive looking guy that just so happened to fancy the business owner’s daughter.
He decided to offer the businessman a deal that would completely wipe out the debt he owed him. However, the catch was that we would only wipe out the debt if he could marry the businessman’s daughter. Needless to say, this proposal was met with a look of disgust.
The loan-shark said that he would place two pebbles into a bag, one white and one black.
The daughter would then have to reach into the bag and pick out a pebble. If it was black, the debt would be wiped, but the loan-shark would then marry her. If it was white, the debt would also be wiped, but the daughter wouldn’t have to marry the loan-shark.
Standing on a pebble-strewn path in the businessman’s garden, the loan-shark bent over and picked up two pebbles. Whilst he was picking them up, the daughter noticed that he’d picked up two black pebbles and placed them both into the bag.
He then asked the daughter to reach into the bag and pick one.
The daughter naturally had three choices as to what she could have done:
Refuse to pick a pebble from the bag.
Take both pebbles out of the bag and expose the loan-shark for cheating.
Pick a pebble from the bag fully well knowing it was black and sacrifice herself for her father’s freedom.
She drew out a pebble from the bag, and before looking at it ‘accidentally’ dropped it into the midst of the other pebbles. She said to the loan-shark;
‘Oh, how clumsy of me. Never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.’
The pebble left in the bag is obviously black, and seeing as the loan-shark didn’t want to be exposed, he had to play along as if the pebble the daughter dropped was white, and clear her father’s debt.”
Parable lesson – lead into outrro 60 second speech and recap on parable phrases and my story –
Get creative about finding what moves you.
This is your life we are talking about.
Don’t let yourself be cheated in life by thinking you only having the option of choosing the black pebble .
You can be anything you want to be so don’t settle for something that doesn’t move you.
Don’t be like me and almost five into the easy route or the route that you know deep down won’t lead you to your passion .
You can choose the pebble you want to choose don’t let anyone tell you otherwise .
If someone is only offering you 1 choice or option then you need to find other options .
